Nest hello not resetting. Solid green light after factory reset

I have the nest hello (wired doorbell) and it was working fine. Now it’s bricked( term I found online). It stopped working and saying the camera was offline but it has a solid green light at the top. I removed it from my app and google home but still not working. I tried doing a factory reset holding the button in back with a pin and holding the doorbell button. As I continue to hold them the green light goes off and as soon as I stop it comes back online.

I'm seeing the exact same issue only 4 weeks after a successful installation. Please advise community reps.

Hey @AShawnTe same thing happened to me. Less than a month old. I was on with support they just had me keep trying to do the resets if anything they should send you a new one. Amazon sent me a replacement. Support had no other troubleshooting besides holding the resets for longer

My wired nest door bell is doing the same . It has been installed for a couple of years in my covered front door entrance. Two nights ago I received a notification that the camera was offline and to ensure it has power and connected to wifi. When I checked the camera the green light was on. I shut off the camera and the green light stayed on. I turned off my wifi and the green light stayed on. This morning I pulled the camera off of its mount and disconnected the power and the green light stayed on for about 2 minutes. I checked the power and had 21 volts. I reconnected and the green light came back on but the camera and door bell still do not work. I disconnected it again and the green light went out almost immediately. I left it off for twenty minutes and reconnected and the green light came on immediately . The camera and doorbell still do not work. I have not tried the reset or remove and reinstall options yet. Do I need to buy another doorbell?

Hey @Frankie1 I was on with support and they had no solution for it. You can try to call and see if they will send a replacement for free. Otherwise yes you will they didn’t have any other steps of troubleshooting other than holding the reset buttons for a longer period of time.

@Frankie1 @AShawnTe

I took the doorbell off and disconnected it from the power. I just plugged in the usb a few days later and it looks like the camera may have reset itself. When I plugged it in I am just getting a blue light now

Thank you, I disconnected mine yesterday and put it in the fridge. I’m going to hook it up later and let you know what happens. If it doesn’t work I’ll hook it up to a usb

Hi Folks,

@Jipc Thanks for the update. Let us know if you successfully set up your doorbell.

@Frankie1 I am sorry to hear that you have had such a hard time with this. I would love to look into this issue further and help find a solution for you.

For resetting the doorbell (wired) to the factory default, you may refer to this link for the steps. Make sure the doorbell is powered on by its wires or powered on by the USB cable during the reset. You’ll know that it’s ready for setup if the ring light is on pulsing blue.

Let me know how it goes by replying to this thread.

Thanks,

Emerson

@EmersonB Mine was unplugged for a few days it worked for about 24 hours then it went offline and just had the green light again. Back to the same original problem. Factory reset not working.
