Nest hello sound recordings

Red_Fox

I installed the nest hello a few weeks ago, I've been trying for a significant amount of time to try to get the app to stop recording every single sound it hears. I get hundreds of sound recordings every day of wind and it's extremely frustrating. The is no sound sensitivity setting in the menu where the help pages directed me.

What I've found I can do is turn off the mic completely, which then doesn't record any audio when motion is detected, or it gives me hundreds of sound recordings every day of wind. Is there an option to not have sounds as a trigger to make a recording??? Super frustrated with this.

You can try turning off ‘Sound’ events in the customization filter of your video feed. Getting to this filter area will vary depending on if you have the Nest app or Google Home app, however the result is that while the camera will still record sound events, these events won’t be visible with the other video events you have. That should clean up the video history clips plus any notifications.

Hey Red_Fox,

Appreciate the help, Rubes. I'm dropping by to ensure if everything is covered here. Hope that sheds some light on the issue.

Thanks,

If I am understanding this correctly there is no way to stop sounds as a trigger for recording video. The only option is to just "sweep it under the rug" by filtering it out. There is no real way to stop this from happening.
