Nest indoor cam setup with nest app

Trying to add new indoor camera to nest app for face recognition etc. Camera added to room etc on google home app. 

nest keeps saying to set up on google home app once scanned QR code and won’t progress

The newer, 2nd gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells released starting in Sept. 2021 only get installed in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app. If you have the newer 2nd gen Google Nest indoor camera, you can only configure it in the Google Home app, where "Familiar face detection" (which we don't use) can be turned on under Settings | Events | Seen events.
