Nest outdoor camera/flood lights

I have the outdoor nest camera/flood light and it connects to Google Home but when I try to add to my nest it will ask for the setup code or scan QR but then asks for the last four of the serial number but does not allow me to add it. I cannot get any further to add to my next app. I have the front door lock and thermostat on my app but cannot add the camera?

Thank you in advance for any assistance.

Unfortunately, Google Nest decided to make its new Google Nest cameras and doorbells (those released starting in the fall of 2021) work ONLY in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app or on the home.nest.com web page (as counterintuitive as that seems), while our older Google Nest cameras and doorbells are still administered and receive notifications in the Google Nest app.

Google Nest's General Manager and Vice President posted this justification for this 2-app approach back in Sept. 2021; there has been no update since: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Blog/Message-from-our-GM-Updates-for-our-Nest-customers/ba-p/...

I recently purchased my nest cam with floodlight and like you, learned that it is in Google Home App only, and not available in the Nest App. I see this as a huge problem, because I continue to have a fractured and disunified experience even though I'm actively choosing Google products (I suppose I shouldn't be surprised considering how fractured their chat services have been but this is another topic).

Some cameras show up in Nest, some show up in Google Home? Please fix this! Not to mention that we've also lost access to viewing the camera via home.nest.com! Years later and services are being taken away instead of added. It makes no sense.

Hey folks,

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App or available on https://bit.ly/3HtBgJC web app. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration.

However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support.

Best Regards,

Brad
