So, having given up on Home/Away Assist, I now keep my camera on all the time but set notifications to only be sent when I am away. The only trigger I have set is People.
Now the camera is right by the door to my workshop. I go in and out of the workshop door many times a day. Now you would expect that if I looked at the Nest timeline then I should see all those People events. You'd be mistaken. If I am lucky, I will see one in the entire day.
Hopeless.

Yes I do. I have my camera on all the time and as it covers the route to my workshop, when I look at the timeline at any time then I should see Person as I enter my workshop, for example. But I rarely do. Maybe 1 walkpast in every 40.

Hey there,
Restarting and factory resetting your Google Nest camera or doorbell will have different results:
Restart: Keeps all your settings, and it should reconnect to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever becomes frozen, has trouble reconnecting to the internet, or isn't working normally.
Factory reset: Erases all your settings and options, and restores its factory default settings. It will not automatically reconnect to Wi-Fi and you'll need to set it up again.
You can find this information, plus additional information on this process here. Please let me know if you have further questions.
Best Regards,
Brad
