Hi folks,
Hope everyone is doing good.
I have just bought a few Google Nest Home security products like Nest Cam (battery)x3, Nest Cam (wired) and Doorbell.
It would be great if I can get some advise on the below:
1. What's the best way to know that your Nest Cam (Battery) is fully charged and ready to be mounted outdoors with no wires? It doesn't seem to show the battery percentage when its charging. I hope there is a way to figure out as it will need a charge few times in a year.
2. With all these products we have an option to keep the Camera On or Off, and also add them to a routine so that it can turn on or off automatically based on our location (in home or away). Would like to know how is everyone configuring these devices generally? Do you keep the cameras on all the time or just follow the Away and Home routines? In my case, my doorbell is wired but Outdoor Nest Cams (battery) are not wired.
I hope to get some advise on the above.
Thanks everyone,
Regards,
Rahul

Thanks for your response!
For some reason I don't see the nest cam battery percentage when its charging and not mounted. May be I am not looking at the right place. Could you please guide me? Thanks.

I do recall another user reporting you need to select the correct (made by google) mount in the settings for the battery percentage to display, so I wonder if you also won't see it if it's not mounted.

Thanks David and Brad!
I understand that currently there is no way to check the battery charging percentage/progress when the nest cam is not mounted. I hope Google thinks about this feature and implement it asap as its quite important.
