I've installed a doorbell, the transformer fits the criteria, there is a blue light on my doorbell but at the end of the set up on the app it will not connect to the doorbell.
It tells me to move closer, I did but it still won't connect through the Google home app.
I tried the nest app but it redirects me to the Google home app.
So it seems like everything is hooked up correctly since there is a blue light, but it will not go through the last steps to connect to the home app.
Any help would be appreciated.

I resolved this by switching to airplane mode and resetting the device

I would just like to add I had this issue yesterday also. Setting up a wired nest camera. It would time out and say move closer. Its right after reading product id tag for me. I have this issue on S22 ultra running android 13. I managed to get camera setup by running install on my tablet (S8 Ultra) instead. On tablet it went through right away. When i contacted nest support they were unaware of of an issue with S22 ultra or Android 13. So I would suggest trying with another android device if possible.

Thank you, I was able to get it to go through the progress a little further by putting my phone in airplane mode.
It turns out it added it to home and then it downloaded updates and then it gets stuck installing the updates.
So still not finished setting up!

Hi there,
Sorry to hear you're experiencing this, as I can imagine it has been an inconvenience. I would love to look into this further for you. I would suggest trying to restart or factory reset your device first. If that doesn't do the trick, I would then suggest trying a different device if you run into this issue, looks like the OP has found a resolution, but please let me know if you need further assistance.
Best regards,
Brad

https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9252162?hl=en This is reset procedure for cameras. As mentioned I used a different android device to setup. But, fixes may have been done to Home app. My third doorbell which is wired installed without issue. Using android 13 Cellphone(s22 ultra) which has had updates.
