Nest won't stay in setup mode after factory reset

Nest doorbell gen 1 won't stay in setup mode long enough to finish setup after factory reset. I factory reset then it stays blue long enough for me to connect and then in app when it allows me to choose wifi doorbell light just turns faint white. I put in password for wifi and it says it can't connect

Hi all,

Thanks for posting in the community. I understand you're having difficulties connecting your Nest Doorbell (1st gen) to the app because it won't stay in setup mode long enough after a factory reset, which prevents you from adding it to the app. I appreciate the detailed information shared and your troubleshooting efforts. Don't worry, I'd be more than glad to assist you. To help with that, I have a few questions for you:

  • Has your Nest Doorbell been paired before?
  • How far is your Nest Doorbell from your router?
  • Is the white light blinking or solid?
  • Is there also an error code in the setup process on the app?

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Regards,
Jonathan
