My Outdoor IQ camera got a flashing red ring around the camera after a heavy rain. I have tried using a paperclip to reset it and the red light went off but after holding the clip in for about 30 seconds several times nothing happened and I never got a light blue ring. When I try plugging and unplugging the camera from the outlet I get a red ring again. I checked the outlet and it is working.
Do I need to hold the reset button for a lot longer to get it to reset?
Is there anything else I should try?

Hi Brad,
The consensus in the comments is that everyone feels that the Nest app provided a far better way to view all of your cameras at once and your customers are upset that we're being forced to use the Home app when we add new cameras which only allows you to look at one camera at a time and requires a lot more clicks to see them.
Telling us to use the Home app is not an acceptable response. You need to get the Home app to the same functionality as the company you acquired before forcing us to stop using the old Nest app.
I'm sure many people feel the same as I do (some have expressed it here) that companies like Amazon do a better job of listening to their customers and that we should opt for their or others' products in the future and not buy Google's.
I came to the same conclusion on my Nest WiFi --- that it was an inferior product to Amazon's eero-- as did many other respondents on that forum. Google's products and customer service just don't cut it.

I am not sure where this is coming form, as that has nothing to do with this thread, but I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the Google Home app. I know that we will have a web app for the Google Home at some point, but for now the new 2021 Cams and Doorbell is exclusive to the Google Home app. There is no way around that I am afraid. But thank you for your feedback on the subject.
Now for this issue - I would try and use a multimeter to test your power as the red ring is power related, but it could also mean that your Nest Outdoor IQ Cam has malfunctioned, or is damaged. As they were discontinued, I am not sure that a replacement would be in order, but you can reach out to Support to see what can be done.
Best regards,
Brad.
