New Nest Doorbell Doesnt record sound

I just installed a Nest Doorbell. In live view there is sound but in recordings of events there isn't. I've gone through the trouble shooting guides. Microphone is turned on and set to record sound.

There is a setting for the camera that enables/disables audio recording while still allowing audio on the live feed. You can find it by opening the doorbell camera in Google Home and then selecting the 3 dot menu in the upper right corner. Select settings from that menu and then select audio. Make sure that the "Audio recording" option is turned on.

@Dragon1975

Unfortunately, the 2nd gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells can only be installed in the Google Home app, and NOT in the Google Nest app.

We discovered this three years ago when we bought a 2nd gen battery camera, and have been using both apps ever since, because we still have 1st gen cameras and doorbells.

I only have the home app

My apologies.  My reply was intended for the post after yours (https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Cameras-and-Doorbells/Can-t-configure-my-doorbell-in-Nest-app...), but I got an error on the post, and then it seems my reply somehow got posted here as well.
