I have two wired outdoor camera's that I have historically used the nest app on my phone to view footage, but better yet, I am able to look at history at nest.com using my computer. From what I have read it is true that a brand new nest camera, I cannot pair to my nest app and use my nest aware subscription services? Is it true I have to use the Google Home app now to have them all in one place?
Secondly, I am not able to view timeline history of my camera's on my google home page on a computer. Is this true. I have to view historical footage on my phone? When I had an issue and was asked for footage by the police (vehicle break in) the nest.com made it so easy to select the time and create a clip and download it. Like 3 clicks and I had what I needed. How do I do this using my computer with google home?
I have the nest aware subscription, does this only apply to the nest.com / app and not google home. So my new camera will only have real time vs. history?

The newer, 2nd gen cameras and lack many of the capabilities of the older, 1st gen cameras and doorbells.
The newer, 2nd gen Google Nest cameras and doorbells released starting in Sept. 2021 (like the battery camera, the floodlight camera, the battery doorbell, and the 2nd gen Google Nest Doorbell) get installed in the Google Home app and do NOT work in the Google Nest app or on the home.nest.com website. And the home.google.com website, which has been in beta "Public Preview" status since going live in October 2022, does NOT provide access to history. Further, the ability to create and download custom clips is currently only available in the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app.
Also, customers can now test out transferring their 1st gen cameras (but NOT their 1st gen doorbells) from the Google Nest app to the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app (https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Blog/Nest-Cam-Outdoor-1st-gen-expanded-support-rolling-out-in...), but they will lose these Google Nest app capabilities:

The older, 1st gen Nest Aware subscription, which is on a per-camera basis and is no longer available, applies only to 1st gen cameras and doorbells. The newer Nest Aware and Nest Aware Plus subscriptions (available since 2020) apply to all 1st gen and 2nd gen cameras and doorbells on the same Google Account in the same Google Nest "home/structure".
We have numerous 1st gen cameras and doorbells, as well as a 2nd gen battery camera (acquired in Sept. 2021) and a 2nd gen indoor camera. We've been using 2 apps for over 2 years, and intend on using the Google Nest app for our 1st gen cameras and doorbells until Google Nest adds the missing Nest app functionality to the Google Home app (if they ever do). Our Nest Aware Plus subscription covers all of our cameras and doorbells.

MplsCustomer gave a great answer. The short answer is Yes that is all true. I learned that about 2 years ago when I bought one of the new Gen 2 cameras. I returned it right away and ended up buying a used Gen 1 cam from eBay so I could stay in the Nest App which I (mostly) love. Google is migrating the features of the Nest app over to the Google home app but it is taking a long time.
