New Wired Floodlight Pro won't connect

For starters since Google is forcing the new cameras onto the Google home platform we are all screwed.  My new Nest Floodlight Cam (wired) won't connect since it wants me to use a Nest protect to help with setup.  My nest protect is in my basement and this light is on my barn.  So this makes it impossible to setup.  Please allow for a work around rather than relying on another product to assist with setup.  Great concept but if you're selling pro stuff allow for pro installation.  Anyone have any ideas?
