Night lighting

My Outdoor IQ Cam is wired and works well, but in cannot record at night even though I have set the settings to “Auto” in night mode.

Does it have a light like my old one or do I have to purchase a separate spot light?

Hi, @Annieflipflop,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand the importance of night recording, and I apologize for the inconvenience. I'm happy to assist you in finding a solution.

To effectively troubleshoot, please provide the following information:

  • Have you experienced this inconvenience before?
  • Is the camera online on the app?

To check if night vision is set to "Auto," please refer to this article: Change Night Vision settings.

If night vision is enabled, try the following steps:

  • Clean the lens: Use a soft, optics-cleaning cloth to remove dust, fingerprints, or dirt.
  • Adjust camera placement: Ensure the camera isn't facing any nearby surfaces or objects that might cause glare.
  • Optimize image settings: Use the Nest or Google Home app to zoom, enhance, and crop out any distracting elements.
  • Check for obstructions: If a bright white shape appears at the edge of the image while the rest is too dark, a surface might be too close. Adjust the camera's angle to avoid this.
  • Move reflective objects: Reposition any nearby items that could reflect infrared light.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Ana
