No QR code or set up key for WIRED google nest cam with floodlight?

Hi there!

I’ve got a nest cam with floodlight which is wired in. I could t find the answer on other posts for a wired in google nest floodlight camera.

I recently changed my wifi network at home and followed the instructions to change the network (e.g. remove the device in the google home app then re-add).

however it asks for a QR code, which I don’t have. The. It asks for a set up key, which again is not present (see picture)

where can I find the set up key?

how do I re-install it?

The QR code was on a sticker on the front of your camera, which you were asked to save with your Quick Start Guide; the 6-character setup code is on the bottom of the camera, as shown in the attached photo. (The floodlight install video doesn't show either of these setup steps, but the video for the similar battery camera does, starting at about 1:00: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10919314?hl=en.)

Hey folks,

 

Kmjm, thanks for reaching out. The QR code location is different for each Nest product, but it’s typically found on the back, bottom, or inside the battery compartment. For Nest Cam (battery), Nest Cam (wired), and Nest Cam with floodlight the QR code is located on the sticker on the front of the Nest camera lens.

 

You can also manually type in the key or serial number.

 

  1. Tap Continue without scanning at the bottom of the QR code scanning screen. Then type in your product’s entry key or serial number.
  2. You can tap Find the code or Show me how, and the app will show you where the serial is located on your product.

Tip: If you have a hard time reading your Nest product’s entry key or serial number, take a picture with your phone’s camera. Then open the picture in your photo app and zoom in.

Hi both,

 

thanks for your replies. Like the person from a related forum post, my camera was installed by my electrician so am not sure what was done with the set up guide or QR code.

 

However, I still can’t find the set up key. There is nothing on the camera…both at the back of the camera or underneath.. underneath is just blank and white.

 

is the set up key a sticker as well, as that may have also been removed.

 

are there no alternative options to add this camera?

If there really is no 6-character Setup Code printed on the bottom of the camera as shown in Google Nest's install video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ftnHYUW2lrE)  (and in the screen capture below) and if your electrician did not save the QR code sticker, then you cannot install the camera.

@aatienza, if there really is no Setup Code printed on the bottom of @Kmjm 's camera, then didn't Google Nest sell an unusable camera, and doesn't Google Nest need to replace the camera?

@MplsCustomer  I’m going to check again on the camera. Watching the video there is one last thing I think I need to try….and that’s removing the power cable attaching the camera to the wall unit, I will feedback once I’ve done that as maybe it’s hidden behind that? I see from the video the SN and code are very small?

Yes, the print for the SN and code is not very big.
