I manage an airbnb, the former caretaker left Nest cameras behind I'm unable to reach her to get her to remove the cameras from her account how can I factory reset them?

You can factory reset them easily if you have physical access to them. Which cameras are they?

If you’re trying to add the cameras to another account such as your own then the original person will have to remove the camera from their account and if you can’t get a hold of them then there’s nothing more that can be done on that part.

I have same issue. The previous can't get the camera deleted from their account, therefore I can't add to my account. What do we need to do. We have followed the delete instructions but the camera will NOT delete.

Hey Balanceguy,

I'm sorry for the delay. If the camera(s) were last connected to the same Wi-Fi network that you're trying to pair them to, they will need to change your Wi-Fi network's Service Set Identifier (SSID) before starting the pairing process. Otherwise, if you plug the camera back in without changing your Wi-Fi network details, the cameras will reconnect to the server and block the Bluetooth pairing process. As a workaround, follow these steps:

  1. Unplug the camera(s).
  2. Wait at least 48 hours.
  3. Before beginning the pairing process, change the Wi-Fi network SSID.

Important: These steps will disconnect any devices that are currently connected to the Wi-Fi network.

  1. Plug the cameras back into a power outlet and connect them to the account using the new Wi-Fi network SSID.
  2. Once they're paired, change the Wi-Fi network SSID back to the original SSID.
  3. Use the Nest app to update the camera's Wi-Fi settings to reflect the original SSID.

Thanks,

Archie
