When I click on activity it says "no events recorded" but when I click on the cameras separately there are events. It used to work but suddenly stopped.

Hi Ken55,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand you're experiencing an issue where your activity tab shows "no events recorded," even though you can see events when you view your cameras individually. It's puzzling because this used to work and has suddenly stopped. I'm here to help you out!

To get to the bottom of this, I have a few questions for you:

  • What specific Nest camera models are you using? If you're not sure which one you have, please take a look at this article: Technical specs for Nest cameras and doorbells
  • Are you viewing the activity feed through the Google Home app or the Nest app?
  • When did the inconvenience start?
  • What troubleshooting have you done so far?

Keep me updated.

Best regards,

Rusell

I have 2 sets of NEST cameras. I have 2 at my house and 2 at my lake house. The 2 at the house are original plug-in (no battery) cameras. I don't recall the model number.

The 2 at the lake house are the newer battery operated, but plugged in all the time.

I view the cameras on the Google Home app.

I have 2 different setups. Although I would prefer one that included all cameras but I couldn't figure that out.

The city set up works fine. I can filter events, and I get thumbnails for each event.

When I switch to the lake cameras, when I click on activity it says “no events recorded”. Yet when I click on each individual camera, I can scroll down and see that it has in fact recorded activity.

I'm wondering if it's time to switch to a different security system entirely.

Hi Ken55,

Thank you for your response. I'm sorry you're having this experience; let me help you further. Given that this inconvenience is occurring in the Google Home app, I'd like you to try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Uninstall and reinstall the Google Home app.
  • Try another mobile device and sign in to the same account to see if you get the same result.
  • Test if the inconvenience persists on both Wi-Fi and cellular data.
  • If you have a family member who has the cameras, please verify if they experience the same inconvenience.

Also, I need to know if you have an Android or iOS phone and if it has the latest system version. Regarding the two different setups, could you provide me with more information?

Keep me updated.

Best regards,

Rusell

I have just un-installed and re-installed Home on both my phone and tablet.  Both are Samsung Android devices.

Both have the most up to date system updates.

I have tried both wifi and on mobile data.

I just checked my wife's Home app on her phone and she has the "no activity " on both Home and lake accounts. She can view each camera individually and scroll down to see individual thumbnails.
