Not Familiar Face Announcement

I have a nest doorbell (battery) and multiple Google display including one hub max. I went ahead and did the nest subscription for the familiar faces feature. I thought when a Familiar face rings the doorbell, it would announce them by name out loud, but it doesn't. It just says that "Someone is at the door" vs "Mike is at the door" ie. The notifications (text) will actually say the name is at the door, but the voice still says "someone".

Any insight would be appreciated.

I don't think the "Familiar faces" feature does anything on Nest Hubs, Nest Minis, or Nest speakers; standard "Visitor announcements" get sent to those devices if that feature is enabled. The Help topic on "Familiar faces" talks only about notifications and alerts in the Google Home app or the Google Nest app, which go to phones and mobile devices: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9268625?hl=en#zippy=%2Cnotifications%2Cenable-notificat...

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this, as I can imagine it has been an inconvenience. I would love to look into this further for you. I am afraid that is not how the announcement works regarding names. I think this is a great suggestion, however, so please leave your feedback on the app.
