footage between events

Our camera view covers our garage/parking area, but an event is not triggered unless someone walks through the yard closer to the camera.

2 things, #1 can we obtain footage of activity happening between events? Someone smashed a windshield on a car parked in the yard, but since the activity wasn't in the area to trigger an "event", I don't see it happening.

#2, can I widen/lengthen the area that would cause a recording event to trigger, so I can include the parking spot in the future?

@Sheilajv

If you have the 2nd gen Google Nest Doorbell AND you have a Nest Aware Plus subscription (which enables 24/7 recording) then you can obtain footage activity that happened between events during the last 10 days. However, since Google Nest designed the newer cameras and doorbells sothey work ONLY in the Google Home app, there is no way to download any video clip that is not a detected and recorded event without using some sort of third-party tool to capture the video while it plays on your phone.

I'm not sure what you mean by "widen/lengthen the area". If you've configured Activity Zones, you can change the zone(s) so it/they cover all of the camera's viewing area. If you're concerned the camera in the doorbell is not picking up motion as well as you would like, the best you can do is, under Settings | Video for your doorbell, increase the "Wake-up sensitivity".
