Notications not working on Google Nest Outdoor/Indoor Camera

Although all notifications are set to "on", the camera never sends thr alert to my phone. Any ideas why this would be? Or how to fix.

Hi, You may want to open an official support ticket which will let you speak with a Google Nest Tech. They should be able to help you debug this.  Here is the link:   I think you might need the serial number of your camera for this.

I have the same problem. I don’t receive any notifications and it doesn’t record all the events

Hey folks,

Jsmain, I'm sorry that you've gone through all of this. Let's get this sorted — a few questions:

 

  • Do you have an Android or iPhone?
  • When did the issue start?
  • Have you tried checking it on another iPhone or Android?
  • How's the status of your WiFi connectivity?

Give these steps a try:

 

  1. Turn off all notification settings in the Home app or Nest app and double check if the Web app has the same settings.
  2. Sign out of the Nest account on all devices it's signed into, including computers.
    • iOS
      1. Delete the app.
      2. Restart the phone.
      3. Reinstall app.
    • Android
      1. Clear the app's cache.
      2. Restart the phone.
      3. Reinstall app.

 Make sure to check these settings after you re-install the app. 

  • Background app refresh is on.
  • Do Not Disturb is off.
  • The app and phone OS are up-to-date.
