I have had original wired nest hello doorbell since 2019. Just realized I can’t use it with an Alexa to chime in remote areas of my building so other family members or guests can hear the doorbell.
i’m having a hard time figuring if I get a Nest mini speaker, will it work to let people know someone has rung the doorbell? If yes, can they answer it from the mini?
Answers on the internet seem all over the place and it seems like the original wired hello doorbell has limitations that gen2 and battery doorbell do not. If it doesn’t work, is there something that does.

Hello Freesoul,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
Google Nest or Home speakers and displays can announce when someone rings your Google Nest doorbell, or other compatible doorbell. With a smart display, Chromecast or Android TV, you may also be able to see who’s there.
1. Set up your products
You’ll need to install your products and add them to their respective apps before you set up visitor announcements.
Note: Visitor announcements may not be available on all 3rd party doorbells that work with Google. To find out if they're available on your doorbell, check with your doorbell manufacturer.
Turn on personal results for your speaker or display. Note: If you have a display, select Always show proactively.
Note: You can also use Do Not Disturb to temporarily turn off visitor announcements for your Google speaker or display.
To turn visitor announcements on:
To turn visitor announcements off, turn off your display notifications. You can also use Do Not Disturb to temporarily turn off visitor announcements for your Google speaker or display.
Hope this helps.
Best,
Princess
