Outdoor Camera could not be added to my nest account (C119)

Hi, would anyone be able to help me with a connection issue i'm having please? I go through the set-up process and always get the message "Camera could not be added to your Nest Account. (C119)".

I have several other nest cams all connected without issue so i don't believe its a network fault my end.

Thanks in advance.

Well, Wi-Fi signal strength can vary from place to place in our homes. We have two Wi-Fi access points in addition to our router/modem for that reason.

We've used the free iOS "Airport Utility" app to check Wi-Fi signal strengths at different locations in your house. You could also temporarily place your camera next to your router/modem during the set-up process to see if that helps.

Have moved the camera to next to a working indoor cam & next to the router, still not working 😞

Thanks for the info though, it was worth a try.

Hiya Rally,

No problem at all. Did you want me to provide a form to have Nest Support reach out to you via e-mail, or would you rather contact them via the link that MplsCustomer provided?

Best regards,

Jeran

@Jeran

I think you could help this customer by documenting how C119 differs from the other 10 help codes (C106, C109, C224, C324, C331, C332, C363, C364, N027, and N028) (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9240048?hl=en#wifi_connection&zippy=%2Cc-errors%2Ctroub...) that also say "Your camera had trouble connecting to Wi-Fi." Presumably, since Google Nest assigned 11 different help codes for this situation, each must mean something different.

Hey there Rally,

In case you aren't aware of what the C119 error message means, I would encourage you to check out this old thread. "A C119 error code means something is blocking the connection to your Wi-Fi router. I'm assuming there are no issues with your Wi-Fi and you can connect to websites normally on your phone or tablet. A NC023 error means your camera couldn’t connect to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth. I'm sure it will be, but I'd recommend checking if Bluetooth is definitely turned ON on your phone or tablet."

Feel free to check out that thread for more troubleshooting steps, and let me know if you had any more questions.

Best regards,

Jeran

@Jeran

Sigh. I would repeat my question. Google Nest's help page (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9240048?hl=en#wifi_connection&zippy=%2Cc-errors%2Ctroub...) lists TEN other help codes that mean the same thing "Your camera had trouble connecting to Wi-Fi" / "something is blocking the connection to your Wi-Fi router") as the C119 help code. What is unique about the C119 error that differentiates it from C106, C109, C224, C324, C331, C332, C363, C364, N027, and N028?

Hey there MplsCustomer,

Rather than spell out all ten different codes, users are more than welcome to use the Nest Camera Troubleshooter their specific code. If you'd like to check out each individual code for the specifics, feel free to test it out! It wasn't linked earlier because the user only experienced the one code for now, so there was no need to follow troubleshooting for other scenarios.

Best regards,

Jeran

Thanks, will run through these
