Peeling Doorbell

I, like many it would appear, also appear to be suffering from the peeling doorbell. The item is around 12 months old, being I have only lived in the property for 1 1/2 years. Such a premium product, with a premium price to match should really last a whole lot longer. 

what can be done to help me?
