Please give us the ability to create zones

I have had multiple Nest products over the last few years, and now in multiple houses. We recently bought a Nest Cam (battery) unaware of the lack of integration with the Nest app and without a number of features we had on our older Nest cameras.

First, because we can't create zones, there is no way to set zones. I want to know when someone enters my yard or when a vehicle pulls in my driveway, but I don't want to know when they walk by in the street, or when a vehicle drives by a cross street. I either get the choice of no notifications or constant notifications because I can't create zones for exclusion.

Second, the video history viewing is horrible. On my Nest Hello doorbell, I can view the history instantly and it is very responsive. On my Nest Cam (battery) when I open the notification, I'm met with a message that the video isn't available yet, and it sometimes takes 5 minutes before I'm able to view recent video. The live feed view is instant, but it takes forever for video to be viewable in the near past. Also, it would be nice to have the skip forward or back 10 seconds buttons. The play/pause button blocks the playback when you are trying to view the history and it takes forever to scroll backward to past events.

This migration was poorly thought out, negligent in notifying buyers of missing features, and selling Nest products that don't function in the same app, lacking the same features, is ridiculous. After investing in so many Nest products, I'm now wondering if they'll even be supported in 5 years.

We have a Google Nest Battery Camera (along with older Google Nest cameras and doorbells) and so share your frustrations with this camera.

However, you CAN set up Activity Zones for the battery camera. Go to the camera in the Google Home app and go to Settings | Events | Seen Events. There you can add zones and set notifications for each zone. It's similar to the Activity Zones on our older cameras.

The previous commenter showed me where to set up zones. However, viewing the recent video history is still  much slower than the Nest app, video sometimes takes a few minutes to show up, and it would be nice to have buttons to jump forward or backward 10 to 15 seconds like the Nest app.
