Recoding Live view on google nest outdoor cam

Why can't a person record while watching a live view on a google nest outdoor battery camera (while connected to a solar panel power). A simple feature you would think be programmed/added right from the start. Not having that feature kind of defeats the purpose of buying a google nest camera. Why do companies skip simple things or features that otherwise would be and should be there automatically? Can you guys, google nest folks add that feature in the next update?? Other CHEAP cameras have that feature.

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. We understand that other features are not available on the Nest Cameras. Having a record button while viewing the live feed is a convenient way to record your desired view. However, we don't have any news to share about applying this feature to the Nest app or Google Home app. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback. I'd suggest you send feedback about your concern using this link to let the Google Engineering team know about your concern.
