Hi There,
Using my nest cam IQ and the nest app i am able to get notifications on sound events, this is awesome for my use as a nannycam with my baby. So i bought a new nest cam, which i configured using the google home app. When i browse to the camera > settings > events. I see the option for "Seen events (people)", but no options to get notifications on sound events.
Can you tell me if i overlooked a setting, or why this is missing from the app? I would love to use this feature (like with my nest IQ) to get a notification when my child makes a sound in the bedroom.
Kind regards,
Maurice

This feature is not available on the Google Nest Cams. You can only set it to receive sounds from a smoke or carbon monoxide detector.

Hi MauriceG,
Thanks for posting here in the Community forum. I'd like to take a look at this for you.
Have you checked if the Sound Detection settings is enabled on your Home app? If not, open your Home app, then tap Settings.
I'll look forward to your response.
I appreciate your help, @colgbo.
Best,
Zoe

Hi Zoe,
Thank you for your guidance. Could it be that this feature is not available in my country? when i browse to the nest aware settings i only see the "Familiar face detection" setting.
Kind regards,
Maurice

Hi there,
Thanks for the information. A few questions: do you have a Nest Aware subscription? If so, what type of Nest Aware subscription do you have? Is it a 1st generation or 2nd generation Nest Aware subscription? Also, please help me with a screenshot of your Nest Aware feature options that you can see on the Nest app.
Regards,
Zoe
