Running Google products from two apps

I'm really disappointed with Google's way of handling their hardware devices. Some will work for Nest, some will work with Home, and even though the device clearly states Nest on the box it only works with Home. The whole smart home experience with Google is turning south, and Google you simply need to clean this up. It is far from user friendly, nor is it the work of a Brainiac, which I'm used to from Google. I understand the business concept of it, but choose one app, instead of making consumers run around in circles trying to figure out which platform you are trying to favor!! Even with a subscription to Nest, I have to view some things through my Home app and Smoke detectors through Nest... what a waist of time. Nest video history works poorly with Home, and the list goes on, simply because you had to build two apps, to run the same service. Not the work of a genius.

It really shouldn't be that difficult from a tech company that seems to have everything in order, to come up with something that will work for all. Pick one app and go with it, and stop sending your customers round in endless circles to figure what fits with what.

Philips designed ONE app for their system, and what a treat. Imagine every tech company developing two or three apps to run their system, because they think it's the work of a genius to control their free and subscription service. Now step into the role as consumer, and have a close look for yourself of what the genius work actually looks like.

Not every user has got a Deep Space science degree, which seems to be where you are heading. Far away from your normal friendly approach to the consumer world.

It's time for Google to look at this from a consumer perspective, before you send us down another track. Time to do a serious clean up, and select ONE app, and go with it. I don't care which one, just pick it.
