SIMPLE camera setup instructions

Sked

Every time I change my wifi password or move houses Setting up the camera always fails at least 3 times. I am always confused about whether to use the google home app or next app or both. I cannot find simple step by step instructions that explain setup and how the apps interconnect. Google or Next support give a bunch of words and links but never basic info. Yes I feel like a dope not being able to figure this out but also ready to toss my nest and google products over it. Any advice welcome

You've selected you have the Nest Cam Indoor, which is managed in the Google Nest app. If you're not sure, this help article has photos to help you tell which model of camera you have.

Go to the same room as your camera, and turn on your phone’s Bluetooth, then follow the steps below.

  1. Open the Nest app and on the home screen, tap the Settings cog.
  2. Select Home info then Home Wi-Fi help.
    • Note: If you don’t find Home Wi-Fi help, you’ll need to remove your camera from the app and add it back with new Wi-Fi information. You’ll lose your video history so make sure to save any important video clips before removing your camera.
  3. Select the camera you want to update.
  4. Tap Start > Update settings.

Follow the on-screen instructions. Scan the QR code on the back of your camera when prompted.
