Servers going offline all the time.

Servers are going offline frequently, all my camera go offline.  Not great for a paid for service.

Even worse, I have one camera that clearly has poorly coded firmware, and never comes back online when the servers go back up, and it needs a power cycle

Model: NEST CAM.O

quartz-user 1 OPENMASTER 7800033 test-keys stable-channel stable-channel.

I have powered cycled it 4 times this week.

Not good enough Google.

Hi @Mark_g1,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing inconveniences with your Nest Camera going offline. I'm happy to assist you.

To better understand why this is happening, please provide the requested information below:

  • What's the color of the LED on the camera?
  • What model of Nest camera do you have?
  • When did the inconvenience start?
  • Are you getting any error messages?
  • How far is the camera from the router?
  • Do you have other Nest devices in the house?
  • Are there other devices connected to the same Wi-Fi where the camera is connected?
  • Can the camera find other Wi-Fi networks?
  • Are there devices or appliances (such as baby monitors, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.) near the camera?
  • Do other devices experience slow internet speeds?
  • For cameras with the status light turned off, have you tried to move the camera to a different power outlet?
    • Does the power outlet have a switch?
  • What Wi-Fi frequency band do you try to connect to (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz)?
  • Does the camera have a subscription?
  • Where is the camera located?

In the meantime, I'd appreciate it if you would confirm that you have checked the article "Fix Nest camera or doorbell Wi-Fi connection issues" and performed the troubleshooting steps outlined therein.

Regards,

Anders

Same issue, they have been working fine until three days ago, one of my nest battery cams kept going offline, pretty much unusable. Now ALL three of my cameras today have going offline.

it is NOT an issue with my wifi signal or configuration, as funnily enough my doorbell and indoor wired cameras work.. and yes I have reinstalled the app, reset the camera and am quite frankly sick of having to do all the time. It is clearly issues with their server.

Piss poor service, considering that we pay a yearly subscription for, and at the same time - the nerve Google had to increase the subscription price as well for a platform that Google seems to have abandoned the market for.
