I bought 3 battery Nest cameras, and 1 floodlight camera. I setup the first battery camera no problem, and now I cannot get any of the 3 others to connect to network. It just says “ Cannot connect to Assisting Device.” Getting this problem on 3 out of 4 cameras? I have tried all the troubleshooting tips, reset routers everything. Is there any other way to connect the camera to network? I am baffled because 1 camera worked no problem but none of the others? Please help!?

I am having the exact same issue

Same error here.
Just bought the 2 pack of outdoor wireless, except I can't even add 1 camera. Just get "Cannot connect to Assisting Device" when trying to add the camera. Tried with both, and can't add either of them to the Google Home app.
Found multiple other threads with the same issue and no proper resolution.
I'm so embarrassed that I reccomended these to a family member because "they are so easy to set up"
Some of the solutions mention creating a new "home" and adding the cameras in there. I was able to add one camera this way, but this means I need to move every single other one of their smart devices over to the new "home" which is just crazy that I need to re set up every single other smart device in my home because these Neat cameras won't add into the Google Home app.
Complete waste of $600+
Reccomended them because they were 'plug and play' and then spent 5 hours trying to get just 1 of the 2 cameras we bought working.
You'd expect a first party camera direct from Google/Nest would work better than 3rd party ones. Apparently not.

I did eventually get everything to work. I had to create a new Home. Added my doorbell first, then each camera to this new Home.
After multiple failed attempts, I had to do a factory reset on one of my cameras to make it detectable.
This is a huge pain and not practical at all as we have dozens of other devices that need to moved over.
Not only that, I now have a replacement unit on its way that I will need to return. Very frustrating
Update: after I had my 3 cameras set up in new home. I removed them one at a time and was able to install in my primary Home.

I’m having the exact same issue. Is there any way to add additional cameras without using the connecting device. I’ve probably tried to add the second camera 30 times to no avail.

Create a new home. It should allow you to add your new devices. Then you can remove and add into your primary home. That's what worked for me

How do you add cameras from the new home into the primary home or vice versa?
12-05-2021 05:11 PM
I had to remove them from the secondary home, and then it let me add them to the primary. It was a pain in the butt however it worked for me

I removed a camera from the secondary home and tried to add it to the primary home and it did not connect. So I removed the camera from the primary home and added it to the secondary home then it worked! I removed the primary home and just renamed the secondary as the new primary home. For some weird reason, the secondary home connected all 3 of my cameras and counter display.

Also having the same issue… very disappointed.

It’s a pin in the butt, but if you follow what the others above mentioned it will work. I finally got my three cameras to work together.

I am having exactly the same problem. Sounds like I need to add the next two cameras to a “second home”. Then remove them and add to the primary home. Haven’t tried it yet but what a pain in the butt. If it doesn’t work might need to return this junk to Costco.

Once I got them working they are actually great. Good luck

I finally got them all working on a home I called “temporary” because I thought I could rename the home. Is there a way to do that?

never mind, figured it out. This tech stuff drives me crazy.
