It beats me why I can't use my nest speakers as a real chime. The problem with visitor announcements is that it will use the volume to which Nest is set and that can be quite low. When somebody is at the doorbell I want to really hear it. Also when I'm for instance in the backgarden.
For Alarms and Timers you can already set separate volumes but not for the Nest Doorbell :-(. Selecting a ringtone and the length of it would be even nicer. Should be relatively easy to add to Google Home. If Google Home were open source I'd already would have contributed a patch

Hi JaapH,
Thank you for reaching out. I understand you would like to control the volume of visitor announcements and select a chime. I'm happy to assist you. Currently, those features are not available with visitor announcements. You can receive app notifications, family face alerts, and other features. I recommend visiting "How visitor announcements work" to learn more.
I also recommend you send us your feedback. Your comments and recommendations are very important for us to improve our devices.
Regards,
Manuel
