I mean .. c'cmon google, lets announce the timeline for this to be supported or what the angle here is. If you cant support the things older devices did, then I need to be vocal in my no longer supporting these devices and giving people fair warning that this shift has occurred. There is too much documentation out there about how Nest supports this that for people looking to buy these products its unclear these arent supported. If there is no intent that these things will be featured it should be made clear.

It's incredibly annoying that my older Nest doorbell can be viewed online, I can create clips, export video, etc all from a browser. My newer "fancier" Nest Indoor/Outdoor Cameras (battery)... can't. I can watch them in the app, that's it. The event recognition/recording is far worse, even when plugged in and set to "most sensitive". I've been incredibly disappointed so far with the limitations. I've "provided feedback" as the community moderators will suggest. Never got a reply and expect no improvements.

Hey folks,

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App or available on https://bit.ly/3HtBgJC web app. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration.

However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support. I am more than happy to assist you further with this inquiry if you wish. Please let me know.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Brad thank you for the response, but this doesn't address either of my concerns. I have a paid for subscription and I would like to use my new nest camera in my home ecosystem and cast it to my Chromecast.. why is this no longer allowed? When will it be? Also, when will the home app be accessible on the web so that the things in my ecosystem can be viewed online?

@ChrisGrantmke

I apologize I misunderstood what you meant. Unfortunately casting your camera views is no longer available with the new cams I believe. I don't have an official answer as to why this change was made, but I think it was most likely some sort of technical issue.

Best regards,

Brad.

I have this same issue I need my GOOGLE nest wirless doorbell cam to display via my ChromeCast. Is there a ETA on when this will be resolved? The wired version can do this but not the wireless. This creates confusion for the sales people and consumers. I'm completely decked out with Google but these constants limitations are getting frustrating especially when other similer products can do this. There has got to be a solution to this!

@Cbayda

I do not believe that there is the option to view these cams via chromecast anymore.

Brad
