Still no Nest Aware support for Nest Cam with Floodlight and Nest Doorbell (1st gen)

dmohanty

In 2022, I purchased a Nest Cam with Floodlight and a Nest Doorbell (1st generation). Both of them have been wired. I have had a Nest Aware subscription for 4-5 years. The subscription helps me monitor my three other Nest cameras from my computer. Those cameras were purchased between 3-5 years back. But, I still can't access the recordings from the two devices I purchased last year. Are you at all going to let these two devices use my subscription?

@dmohanty

If your Nest Aware subscription is in the same Google Nest "home/structure" as your new floodlight camera and your new Google Nest Hello Doorbell, the Nest Aware subscription that covers your other 3 cameras should automatically cover your new camera and doorbell.

However, for the newer cameras and doorbells that are installed in the Google Home app, you have to use the Google Home app to view the history provided by your Nest Aware subscription, and you cannot access those newer cameras and doorbells on the old home.nest.com website.

If your new doorbell is a 1st gen Google Nest Hello doorbell (which installs in the Google Nest app), you should automatically be able to see its history in the Google Nest app and on the home.nest.com website as long as you installed it in the same Google Nest "home/structure" as your Nest Aware subscription and your other 3 cameras.

HOWEVER, if your three other Nest cameras were covered by the old 1st gen (per camera) Nest Aware subscription, you will need to cancel those subscriptions (you can't get the 1st gen subscription for the floodlight camera) and get the newer Nest Aware or Nest Aware Plus subscription, which covers ALL cameras and doorbells in the same Google Nest "home/structure".

To contact Google Nest Support on this, you could try the "Contact us" link under "Nest Aware Premier Care" on the page below to "Get 24/7 access to Nest Aware Experts on the Nest Customer Care team. They’re available to answer questions, help you access features, and manage your subscription."

You can livestream all old and new cameras on the "preview" home.google.com website, but you cannot view history there.

Hey dmohanty,

Checking in — we hope you've got the answer you're looking for. Let us know if you have more questions in mind.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Thanks,
Archie

@MplsCustomer , Thank you for responding.

I have a Nest Aware Plus subscription. Using this subscription, I can monitor the feeds from two Nest Cam IQs and a Nest Hub Max by visiting home.nest.com.

I can access the feeds from my flood-light camera (launched in 2021) and my door-bell (also launched in 2021) only from a mobile device. This is a big drawback.

I have taken this up with Google Support, but they provided me with information that I already knew. I posted in this forum hoping that somebody from Google will take notice.

Hi everyone,

@dmohanty, thanks for getting back to us. You can see the live feed of your Nest Camera with Floodlight and Nest Doorbell to the https://goo.gle/2UZL8VI website. Use your own email address from your Nest app. Let us know how it goes.

I appreciate the help, Archie and MplsCustomer.

Best,

Emerson
