Three minutes, not three hours, of Nest doorbell video history

A Nov. 29, 2023, post clarified for me that without subscription, I have three hours of _event_ history, NOT video history. This is misleading advertising for the Nest doorbell product, as noted in the prior thread. The situation has not changed. I will replace my Nest with another product.

We've been Google Nest customers since 2019. From the beginning, WITHOUT a subscription, for 1st gen cameras and doorbells, we could get only snapshots for events occurring during the most recent 3 hours, and for 2nd gen cameras and doorbells (when they came along starting in 2021), we could get only event video history for events occurring during the most recent 3 hours.

Totally agree.  One of the reasons I bought the Google doorbell was 3 hours of videos, not just any videos recorded in the last 3 hours. Totally misleading.  Now I find I cant change the notifcation sound from the default (samsung) and Nest online is more than double the Ring price I swapped from.  Not happy.

EDIT: I have found there is a way in the Samsung to change the doorbell and person identification notifications, almost impossible to find option needs to be turned on first, then back in the notifications for that app there is now an advanced option.

Go to Settings, Notification, Advanced Settings. scroll to the bottom to Manage Notification Categories for each app and turn that on.

Now go back to Settings, Apps, find Home and select it, Notifications, Notification Categories, then you have Camera and Doorbell notifications, click each to set the individual alert tones.
