Transfer Nest Hello to Google Home App Failing

I'll start by mentioning that I've always had problems since I migrated my Nest account to Google. Way back when I migrated to the Google account the Nest Hello never showed up in Google Home. I contected support and we even got on the phone and tried some stuff out and I sent all sorts of information but in the end support ghosted me and I still do not have the Nest Hello available in the Google Home app.

This is a pain as one of the great features is to see who is at the door on the Hubs.

Anyway, I got a pop-up in the Nest app saying "transfer to the Google Home app" and I think maybe they finally have this fixed!

All the docs indicate I should end up going through some sort of wizard at this point to move the device to the Google Home app. But all that happens is the Google Home app simply opens. No wizard and no indication that anything has happend at all.

I've waited days for it to show up and it never does.

I try to add the device manually from the Google Home app and it scans for devices, brings up the "What are you setting up?" screen where I select "Doorbell" and Nest Doorbell (wired, 1st gen) and it says "Plug in the camera near where you plan to use it". I never unplugged it so I hit next and it starts "looking for devices" again and I'm back to "What are you setting up?".

I tried factory resetting the doorbell and adding it just using the Google Home app and get the same results. It looks for the device, asks what I'm setting up, scans again and so on.

Readding the doorbell to the Nest app works just fine.

I'm just another Google Nest customer, but my guess is that you'll first need to resolve the defect that is preventing your Nest Hello Doorbell from being seen in the Google Home app even though you migrated your Nest Account to a Google Account some time ago.  That alone is quite odd.  We migrated back in 2020 and have been able to see our Nest Hello Doorbells in the Google Home app ever since.

We're not getting the pop-up prompts to "transfer" our Nest Hello Doorbells to the Google Home app because we're not on the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app, both because it's still a beta release and because so many Nest app functions are still not available in the Google Home app (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/13038234#zippy=%2Cnest-app-only-features).

I've also seen posts in this forum about various glitches and defects when "transferring" Nest Hello Doorbells to the "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app.
