Turn off notifications for familiar faces.

Could anybody please explain how I can turn off notifications for familiar faces? I don't really need to get notifications every time my family is in the garden. I understand that the option exists to switch off notifications entirely when you are at home but I would still like to be notified about unfamiliar faces when I am at home. Why is this not an option?

I would love this option as well. The ability to ignore some know people, but notify for others, and unknown faces. 

I have little ones that will go outside if I am busy in the kitchen. It is perfect to get an alert. But I don't need to know that I am coming or going...
