Two cameras started going off line repeatedly

I have had two nest cameras for several years, they both worked fine.  A couple of months back at the same time, they both started repeatedly going offline, multiple times per day to the point where they are essentially very unreliable.

One of them is <50cm from the wifi they are connected to so I don't think it is a wifi connectivity issue.

We have 500Mb broadband and all other wifi devices work fine on this network.  I am using Unifi wifi with 4 access points wired directly to a switch which is wired to the supplier's broadband, and the cameras worked with this with no issues for several years.

I have tried deleting and re-adding them to the net work but this had no improvement.

When they are not connected, sometimes they have no light, sometimes a fixed red light, sometimes a flashing red light, when I turn them off and on then I get a flashing blue light.

The Google Nest Help topic below says a flashing red light indicates "Insufficient power".

Is it possible that one of the USB connections is slightly corroded? You could just try unplugging them a few times just in case that's the problem.

Thanks MplsCustomer, I have tried unplugging and re-connecting them all.  One of the cams is inside and so I think this is unlikely to be the issue, also the fact that both started having this issue at almost the same time makes me feel this is unlikely to be it.

Hello NickB-N14,

I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with this. No worries; we'll check this out. Just a few questions: did you try connecting the camera to a different power outlet since it is getting red lights? Have you checked if the power adapter is properly connected and using a different power adapter? If you have a computer, try to connect one of the cameras to see if you still get the red or no light status on the LED.

Thanks for the help, @MplsCustomer.

I look forward to your response.

Best,
Edmond
