We accidentally deleted a perfectly good gen 1 Nest camera from our Google Home setup. We have tried re-connecting it; when we try via the Google Home app, the app asks, "what are you setting up?" and when we answer "other Nest camera," it tells us to use the Nest app for the installation. When we answer "Nest Cam," the process starts and we scan the QR code, but then the app asks to select which kind of camera. The choices are both wrong -- they are Nest Cam Battery or Nest Cam with Floodlight. This is a a Wired Nest Cam but that choice is no longer supported apparently within the Google Home App. Trying either of the selections takes us to the "Connecting" page but nothing ever connects.
So it's clear that the Google Home app does not support the Gen 1 Nest cameras and there is no way to connect it.
When we try to connect it via the Nest app, we can scan the QR code just fine and the message is "Go to Google Home app." So the Nest app seems also to no longer support installation of a gen 1 Nest camera.
Is there a work-around? It was a silly accident that it was deleted. It was working fine and my brother simply didn't realize he had removed it from the Google Home app; he had only been trying to turn the camera on and off.
I'd love to hear of any workarounds! TIA

There is no option in the Google Home app to delete a 1st gen camera (I just checked one of ours), UNLESS perhaps you are using the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app AND had transferred your 1st gen camera to the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app.
If you ARE using the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app, this MIGHT be some defect of the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app, where deleting a transferred 1st gen camera causes problems. Maybe--since it's a beta version, and since it's still possible to transfer 1st gen cameras back to the Google Nest app from the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app--the delete function isn't working correctly for transferred 1st gen cameras.
If you are NOT using the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app, and you actually deleted your 1st gen camera from the Google Nest app, you should be able to reinstall it using the Google Nest app.
You CANNOT install 1st gen cameras in the Google Home app.
You CANNOT install 2nd gen cameras (like the Nest Cam Battery or Nest Cam with Floodlight) in the Google Nest app, and I don't think the Google Nest app would present you with any option to do so, UNLESS, like I said, you had previously transferred your 1st gen camera to the beta "Public Preview" version of the Google Home app.
