Use Google WiFi Points as chime for Nest Doorbell

I have just bought the Nest Doorbell Wired.  I have Nest WiFi set up in the house - one Nest Router and 2 WiFi points.

I would like the WiFi points to "chime" when someone rings the Doorbell, but can't work out how to set this up.  Can someone help?

Hi @obwjones83,

We understand your inquiry about using your Nest WiFi points as visitor announcements. Unfortunately, you can't directly set up Nest WiFi points (any generation) to act as chimes for the doorbell in the traditional sense.

Here's the good news! You can still receive visitor announcements when someone rings the doorbell using Google Assistant devices like Nest Hubs or other smart speakers with speakers or screens.

  • These devices act as excellent chimes, announcing visitors alongside potentially showing a live video feed (depending on the speaker model).
  • The Google Home app makes setting up visitor announcements a breeze. Simply follow the in-app instructions for your specific device.

By utilizing Google speakers or screens, you'll get clear audio notifications and potentially even a visual confirmation whenever your Nest Doorbell detects a visitor.

I hope this helps!

Regards,

Brandon.
