I have a nest doorbell connected to a 400MB internet connection but any time someone rings my doorbell it takes 45 seconds to two minutes to render the app’s camera view so I can interact. It’s been this way since the day I got it. Does anyone else have this issue? I’d expect the app to be much faster than this.

Hey Steve,
I did go through the article and checked the things it mentioned. I did have one instance where it worked fine last week, but then multiple where it didn’t. It is connected to a Google mesh network but the doorbell is basically on the other side of the wall from our modem and the network puck plugged into it. The strange part is I primarily have the issue during a doorbell ring. I sometimes have a delay when I randomly access the app, but it’s not consistent and not very major in those scenarios.

Yes this still an issue as google have never provided a solution.
I will personally confirm when we have a resolution until then please keep this open.

There are loads of similar issues however agents seem to be keen to close them. People expect a doorbell to work out the box and therfore cannot spent hours toeblshooting.
You need to find our whats going on as I paid a small fortune for a Google device when i could have got a ring for less than half the price.

I have the same exact problem. I thinks it’s just the way the product works. Google’s Nest products are just not very good in general.

The Agents seem to be eager to close the tickets without resolving the issues. But my doorbell is still very slow.

I have had this issue for several years. They are unable or unwilling to fix the issue. I have even called and opened tickets with no help. They are just happy to take our money.

I have the same.problem and have had it since I got it as well. I also find that the delay happens all the time with a doorbell ring as opposed to accessing the camera.

I’m having the same issue. Such a waste of my money. I just replaced my doorbell with Ring one and it’s blazing fast. Never going back to Google again. If they can’t resolve or even care to respond

I had high hopes for the nest battery doorbell. Huge lag and my high speed wifi 6 router is 7 ft away. Takes 20 seconds to stream and sometimes the video doesn't work at least a 5 sec delay in the ring

My issue was that the doorbell was taking a long time for the video to load on the nest app.
I think I solved the problem by Turning off the option on my router to have 2.4 gig and 5 gig Wi-Fi so I'm only using 2.4 gig now and it seems to have speeded it up things.
Feedback if this resolves your problem.

It took 12 seconds from time of door bell and notification. By the time I logged in the van had left!

I have pretty much the same problem, except my app will try to render the video forever instead of 45 or 100 seconds later. All other event video clips seems to work though.

I have the same problem, I even went to the extent of upgrading my router for a few hundred £ and prioritising traffic to/from the doorbell and still no joy.
I encourage people to post on here to keep the thread alive, maybe google will actually take note at some point

I have the exact same issues, takes ages to loads if someone calls to the door. I've also recently realised it's not recording all of the comings or goings at my door which is really worrying. I upgraded to full fiber boardband costing a fortune thinking that might be the issue. I have really fast boardband but the doorbell still takes a minimum of 10 seconds to show anything. Google have cost me a fortune as I 8 different products thinking if I had the same family of product it would be more streamlined plus I paid for a year's subscription and changed my boardband. Really disappointed and dissatisfied with the results especially from such a big name

Same issue since day one. I have excellent Wifi coverage, doorbell is reasonably close to router and every single time someone rings the doorbell it takes foreeeever to load. I will open app nearly immediately and it has never loaded in time and I'm basically running after the person that knocks. I've had packages to sign for. After investing into the Nest Secure and multiple sensors, the Wifi chip stopped working. They discontinued the device and no support. It was an expensive experiment for their customers. After this doorbell issue I will never buy a Google product again. Ever. They produce garbage products that look/feel premium.

I have this issue too, this is my second nest doorbell and both have been the same. I have full fibre 900.
Anyway this looks like a typical dead thread. I’m sure company’s have a maximum amount of times they have to reply then they just ignore it.

same here - **bleep**tiest doorbell cam i ever had sadly . the delay is horrible. Somebody rings the door, it then takes sometimes about 10-15 seconds till it rings inside the house (on google nest hub and google nest minis ) - on the hub the video is sometimes not loading - or takes around 30 seconds.
On the go via Mobile app? There is just no way to get this work. Sometimes it takes at least 45 seconds to load, sometimes it throws errors. you cant communicate live to people at door. Postguys usually dont wait 1 minute to respond....
I hoped for software updates for the device - but that did not help with delay at all ....
Home Wifi 6Accesspoint around 2 Meters from the Bell- Internetconnection is 100/100mbit .... more then enough for such small videos. Buying premum did not reduce the delay at all.

Same issue here. Gigabit wifi 802.11ac Unifi network with 5 AP’s around my house.
20-30 seconds to get a stream from nest app but if I launch my HikVision app I get instant video

Same issue. Video spins and spins and spins. Forget being able to communicate to your guest through the mic. It worked fine when it was Nest operated. I’ve had issues with the app and device ever since Google took over.
