Warning Google will not honor warranty on accessories

My nest camera weatherproof 10m cable failed after six months, and Google will not honor the warranty on their own accessory.   After two chat support sessions, one of which ended with them telling me to contact Amazon for the return knowing it was purchased six months ago.   Amazon would not take the return so I called Google support back.
I was told they cannot provide a replacement charging cabling because I didn’t buy it from the Google store.   This is ridiculous as they will not honor their own warranties.   I am now questioning all of my other Google home device purchases and will think twice about purchasing any more.    Be forewarned.

This is not acceptable.  If for no other reason I will not recommend Google forany product. To carry this further, Google, to my knowledge, does not have any self operated stores.  By extension, they could refuse to honor all of their warranties, since all of their sales are thru 3rd parties.  Sad business practice.

This is curious. Our "Safety, Warranty & Regulatory Guide for Google Nest Cam weatherproof cable" does say it "only applies if you purchased your Google Product from Google or its authorized resellers".

However, it's not at all clear who IS a Google "authorized reseller". Is Best Buy? Or Target? If I search online for what or who is a Google "authorized reseller", I can't find any clear answer at all.

We happened to buy both our battery camera and our optional power cable from Best Buy.  Does this mean they were NOT covered by any warranty on either product?

In the [original post, the author said that Google told him to contact Amazon because that is where he bought it.  I have heard of complaints similar to this in the past.  I purchased my system thru a major electronics handler here in Europe and, lucky for me, they had their own internal guarantee system (mandated by European law).  And no, I have no idea who an "authorised" dealer is.  Would be interesting to know.

Didn't buy it from Google? They have an entire Google store front on Amazon. You should file a complaint with amazon and probably the FTC.
