I've been hearing that this is "coming soon" for 2 years, but still nothing. Is Google going to bait-and-switch the entire Nest fanbase here? Many of us kept buying newer Nest products with the assurance that older legacy devices would continue to be fully functional in the Home app, just like Google said.
I've had to run 2 apps for years now, but still no full integration....on a service I pay for that was promised a full integration.
When is this going to be fixed, or rather, are you not going to do it and hope we all give up due to a complete lack of communication from Google?

A lot of us who are using 2 different apps for our Google Nest devices would like to know. One year ago this month, Google Nest's Vice President and General Manager posted the following:
There has been no update whatsoever since then.

We have been watching the Google Nest Community page for any updates since Sept. 29, 2021, when Google Nest Vice President and General Manager Rishi Chandra posted the following, but there have been no updates at all:

Going to assume that Google Nest Vice President and General Manager Rishi Chandra's statement that this will be completed in 2022 is 100% out the window now?
Are you guys just going to keep throwing that standardized message you typed at us until all of our legacy devices break?
I'm not buying any more Nest / Home products until they're integrated, and if they aren't, I'm leaving the platform.
Google has a serious problem with releasing great products and ideas and then subsequently ruin them with lack of support, lack of further innovation, or Google's favorite, "rebranding."

Google Nest is about to release changes that may address our concerns, given these new blog posts:
However, when Google Nest says they are providing "a more unified and organized smart home" that "combines the best of the Nest app and the best of Home app", "bring[s] the best of the Nest and Google Home apps into one experience", "bring[s] some of our most highly requested features to the Google Home app", "bring[s] over the best of the Nest app into the Home app", and has "a refreshed camera controller that includes beloved Nest app features...", will our older Google Nest cameras and doorbells that currently work fully only in the Google Nest app be able to use this "more unified smart home", this "one experience", or will we have to continue to use the Google Nest app?
And when Google Nest says "Watch your compatible Nest cams live from most web browsers via the new Google Home for web interface", will will our older Google Nest cameras and doorbells be able to use this new web interface, or will our older cameras and doorbells continue to use the separate home.nest.com website?

I read this as more of the same - excluding legacy Nest products yet again.
They're "rolling in the best of the Nest app" to the Home app and their most current cameras.
Still nothing on the promised integration with legacy devices - devices I pay to have cloud storage for. It's a slap in the face to long-time Next/Google users, and makes what they've said int he past a lie, but it's not surprising of Google to do this.

Hi there,
We’re prioritizing bringing the best and most helpful camera features from the Nest app, while also expanding to what users need today. These blog posts go into what we’ve been working on, and soon, you’ll be able to try them through our Public Preview program:
With that in mind, we’re always looking to improve, and your feedback is important to us, and we invite you to share it with us at anytime. Learn how to submit feedback via the Google Home app.
Best regards,
Brad

"We’re prioritizing bringing the best and most helpful camera features from the Nest app, while also expanding to what users need today."
The best and most helpful feature would be to fully support legacy Nest devices within the Home app so users don't have to have two apps on their phone for one service.
Google flat-out said this would happen years ago, yet it still hasn't. Was Google blatantly lying?

I say leave it open as there hasn't been an answer to the question yet, just very carefully selected wording that doesn't answer anything asked on this thread.
It's very simple - when is Google going to do what they promised years ago and fully integrate legacy Nest devices into the Home app so that we don't have to use two apps for one service that we pay for.

If this is still ongoing, and receiving regular interaction, then the thread will remain open until there is little to no interaction, or it has been resolved. As I do not have any time frame to provide you with, I do not have an update. Thank you for providing your feedback!
Best regards,
Brad

It’s completely absurd that Google didn’t lead off all of today’s blog announcements with what the plan is to address the disaster of legacy Nest camera users being integrated into the Home app with full features. Complete slap in the face to the most loyal and early adopters of Google products. It’s clear the focus is on catering to newer customers. I’ve been a Nest customer since 2014 and have seven nest cameras, 5 hubs, thermostat, and Google WiFi. We’re done waiting for attention to the legacy nest issue. Never again purchasing a Google device.
