As best I remember it just doesn't automatically get sent.  You should have received an email with a link giving you the ability to order one.

I had to migrate my DropCam/Nest account to Google before I was able to order the 'free' replacements.

Only after logging into Google with the new account could I get to the order page where I could put in the code.

Important....Make sure you have enough upload bandwidth in your network to handle the combined load of however many cameras you are running as Google is sending out 2nd Gen Nest Cams which are only supported by the Google Home app and have no low BW video setting.   You could run two DropCams with an ADSL line (768Kbps uplink), you can only barely run one 2nd Gen Nest Cam.  The 2nd Gen Nest Cams  are only supported by the Google Home app which is pretty sketchy and does not have many of the Nest App features. It is especially poor if the camera is going offline all the time.

Also, make note the mounting scheme for the Nest Cam is completely different than the DropCam and may not fit your installation locations. I had to make some major adjustments in orientation and placement to get the same field of view.

I would take a close look at these issues before you spend a lot of time seeking out the 'free' replacements.  Make sure it will work for you. Otherwise you are just signing up for a shipment of e-waste.   I found that out the hard way.

Sadly the response from Google was "Sorry buddy, you are SOL".

FWIW, the BW requirements for various Nest devices can be found here (sort of):

https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9245832?hl=en#zippy=%2Creduce-the-amount-of-bandwidth-y...

It is not clear what the BW minimums are for all 2nd gen devices are but I think it is safe to assume that  2nd Gen Nest Cameras of all sorts have the same minimums.
