Hi all
Can I please get some help on what Hager branded transformer I need for a Nest Wired doorbell.
I moved into a new-build home (built in 2022) and it has a Hager consumer unit fitted. There’s wiring in place already, running from the outside door to the consumer unit, but I need to fit a transformer. I would prefer to get a Hager branded one to ensure it is consistent with the rest of the components in the consumer unit (even if different branded ones will work fine). But I’m usure which one I need – and prices vary considerably – ranging from around £10 to spending £250 on a transformer!
Does anyone know which one I specifically need that will have enough power for the Nest wired doorbell? The UK google store website says, “Voltage - 12 to 24 V AC; Power - 8 to 40 VA”
In the future, I also plan to upgrade the doorbell to the Nest wired doorbell (2nd gen) which is only available in USA. I’ve heard people buying it and it working fine in UK. So, any transformer that is suggested, could you please also let me know if it will work fine with the 2nd gen nest doorbell as well? The USA google store website says, “You need a transformer that is rated 16-24 V AC, 10-40VA to provide enough power to your doorbell”
Not too sure if this is useful to know or not, but there is no chime unit fitted in the house. And I didn’t intend to buy/install one either if it isn’t needed, as I just plan to use the home mini speakers dotted around the house.
In summary:
Doorbell: Nest wired doorbell and eventually the Nest wired 2nd gen, which is only available in USA
Consumer Unit: Hager branded – the house was built in 2022
Transformer needed: Hager branded and compatible with both Nest wired doorbell and eventually the Nest wired 2nd gen, which is only available in USA
Chime unit – none fitted to home
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

I'm sharing the information you need for your current doorbell and the one you plan to use in the future. Here's the article so you can clarify any doubts and see if you were correct, but it's great that you decided to confirm beforehand.
Please take a look at this: Check Nest doorbell compatibility.

Thank you for sharing, but that doesn't really answer my question.
Do you know what Hager branded transformer I need to be compatible with the Nest wired Doorbell and Nest wired doorbell (2nd Gen).
The reason I ask is because there are a lot of different transformers and I don't quote understand the information on the link. So I want to make sure I'm buying the right one. Is it possibly someone could just tell me the model number of the correct Hager transformer I need? Or possibly post a link to it here?

Hi RaminNoodles86,
Thank you for your response. Let's work together for a solution.
If you have any questions concerning the Hager-branded transformer, the best thing to do is contact them and see what they can recommend, as it should operate with the correct voltage. However, if they provide a variety of models, it is best to contact them.
Let me know how it goes and keep me posted.
Regards,
Kevin
