@Shyne1

The normal operating mode for the Google Nest Doorbell (Battery) and the Google Nest Camera (Battery) when not plugged in is "Idle" mode because they are on battery power. If we unplug our Google Nest Camera (Battery), it goes into "Idle" mode and is slow to detect events; when ours is unplugged I can walking front of the camera and it won't detect a "Person" or "Motion".

How can I get the camera to detect motion

@Shyne1

If your doorbell's camera is not detecting any events at all, perhaps you should contact Google Nest Support.  They may ask you to do a reset and/or a factory reset.

Hi folks,

@Shyne1 thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear if you've had to deal with this. Let's check our options for this concern. A few questions: Is your doorbell in the Home app or Nest app? Is the Airplane or Do Not Disturb mode turned off or on? Did the customer try to use a different mobile device?

Try these steps:

  • Try turning off and on your notifications.
  • Restart the Nest doorbell.
  • Reset it to the factory default and re-add it to the app. Hit this link for the steps.

Looking forward to your reply.

@MplsCustomer appreciate your response.

Thanks,
Emerson
