Wire Google nest doorbell will not reconnect

I removed the doorbell from the Google home app and now I am unable to reconnect. I factory reset it but once I place the camera back on the doorbell, the light goes back to green. What do I have to do to reconnect the doorbell?

Hi @Greggmireles3

If you removed it from the Google Home app and did a factory reset, you need to set it up like a new device.
Did you also set it up like a new device?

Yes sir, I am trying to add it as a new device but it is not working.

Hi @Greggmireles3

Did you do this procedure?

  1. Locate the reset pin hole on the back of the doorbell.
Tip: The reset pin on the Nest Doorbell (battery) is located below the USB port on the back of the doorbell.
  2. Press and hold for 5 seconds.
  3. Your doorbell will restart, and the status light will be steady, solid white.

Yes I did but I will try this again.

The light is flashing yellow not white.

@Greggmireles3

A flashing yellow light means your doorbell isn't getting enough power:

Many customers in this forum report upgrading to a 16V 30VA transformer for their 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbell.

Why did you remove your doorbell from the Google Home app in the first place?

Thank y’all for your help.

I was able to add the doorbell. I did not have the doorbell connected to power when I was resetting it so I did not have enough power.
I did the factory reset while still connected and everything worked fine.

Hi folks,

@Greggmireles3, happy to hear that! I appreciate the gesture. It looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will be locking this in 24 hours if we don't hear back from you again. Feel free to start a new thread, and we'll be happy to help.

Thanks for your help, @RXShorty and @MplsCustomer

All the best,
