Hello,
We Have a problem with our nest Doorbel.
When i push the button on my doorbel, the doorbel and lights go offline / turns off. Also in the “NEST” app, the camera shows offline.
When I ping the ip-adres of the doorbel, iT does have a reply, but When i push the doorbel, I have short period of “Request timed out”. After a short time it recovers itselves. But if i push again, the same happens and happens over again. If i meassure the AC VOLTAGE, i meassure a constant 24-25Vac (voltage doesnt drop)
Note: When I turn off “door chime” in the Nest-app. The doorbel stays on and Doesnt turn off anymore.. Except, When don’t have a external Chime.. So, is the internal battery the issue?
Please Help..
Kind regards Hans

It sounds like the internal battery (yes, there is one!) on your Google Nest Hello Doorbell has failed. The internal battery has now failed on all three of our Google Nest Hello Doorbells in succession. As you've discovered, turning off the "Indoor chime" option prevents the doorbell from going offline when the doorbell button is pressed.
The reason is that the purpose of the internal battery is to power the doorbell and camera during the instant when power has to be diverted to ring the indoor doorbell chime when the doorbell button is pressed.
There is a VERY long thread on this, with over one thousand replies, going back to 2021:
We have our "Indoor chime" option turned off on all three of our Nest Hellos, and have the "Visitor announcements" option (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7672451) turned on instead so we get notifications on our Nest Hubs and Nest Mini when any of the doorbells are rung.
Some customers have tried prying open their doorbell and replacing the internal battery, using these instructions, but the doorbell is not designed for self-maintenance:

Another consideration to checkout is the possibility that the door chime wires connected to your doorbell are shorting out (touching each other). This happened to me previously.
