Wired Nest doorbell with mechanical chime quit ringing inside the house

My wired Nest doorbell with mechanical chime quit ringing inside the house and can't figure out solution.  I changed out the mechanical chime for a new one thinking that was the issue but same problem occurred.  I have disassembled and disconnected the doorbell and reinstalled and again to no avail.  I have looked at the settings and made sure they were correctly set.  The exterior doorbell continues to ring with no problem but that certainly won't help. Could the contraption attached to the mechanical chime be the issue? Someone HELP please.

How old is your 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbell? I've seen quite a few customer posts in this forum about problems with the doorbell's "chime puck" that cause the doorbell chime to not ring, but customers reporting this seem to have problems as soon as they install their doorbell.

A number of customers have reported getting replacement "chime pucks" or whole new doorbells from Google Nest Support.

These are a few of the other posts:

Mine has been installed and in use for several years.  The only issue is the amount of time it takes when someone rings the doorbell for it to connect to the app on my phone and by then the person left.

Perhaps the internal battery in your Nest Hello Doorbell (yes, it has a battery) is failing, as it has for hundreds of other customers. It causes the indoor chime not to ring and the camera to go offline for a minute when the doorbell is pressed. Google Nest says it "cannot" replace doorbells with this defect if they're beyond the 1-year warranty. The workaround is to turn off the "Indoor chime" option and turn on the "Visitor announcements" option and rely on visitor announcements on Nest Hubs, Nest Minis, and/or Nest speakers.  (Or you can use instructions posted on iFixit to pull your doorbell apart and replace the internal battery.)

I’d be happy to dismantle my doorbell and replace the battery and gasket but where did I find a parts list?

I finally ordered a new doorbell to replace the original.  I am hoping it arrives soon.  Then I will take apart the old one and order a replacement battery and use it on my garage door.  We'll see if that resolves the issue.
