Wired doorbell won’t turn on

I’ve had my doorbell for nearly 3 years, wired in to a chime with internal transformer. I’ve recently moved and took the doorbell with me but not the chime.

So I installed it with the same chime however I was having issues when the doorbell was pressed and it subsequently turning off. Occasionally it wasn’t turning on until it stopped working altogether. So I swapped the chime for a straight transformer, 240 to 12/24. Trialling both options with no luck. I’ve plugged the device in via the micro usb port and still no luck with power.

is the doorbell dead dead and due a replacement or are there any easy fixes that I’m missing.

many thanks.

Hi MattC94,

Thank you for reaching out to the community. I understand that your Nest Doorbell is not powering up. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • Did the Nest doorbell work when it was first installed?
    • If yes, how long has it been since installation?
  • Which troubleshooting have you done so far?
  • May i know which generation of Nest Doorbell you have?

We recommend to you to take a look at this article:  Check Nest doorbell compatibility - Google Nest Help

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Rusell.
