Wired indoor camera - sound alerts (dog barking)

I have two nest cameras; 1st gen indoor and 2nd gen indoor wired. 
The 1st gen has been brilliant, I use it as a dog nanny camera and love that it alerts me to barking and talking etc in the nest app. I loved it so much I wanted a second but my only option was to get the newer indoor wired. Having got the camera I couldn’t get it to connect to the nest app and I can’t see any way to set up the dog barking alerts in the Google home app? 
Please can you help me as this is the sole reason I bought a second one and I’m hoping it’s a user error issue!

Hi Motzerali,  I'm and end user like you.  Many of us purchased the new cams when they were released in Sept of 2021.  And to our surprised learned they didn't work with the NEST app.  Here we are 9 month later and still no features have been moved from the nest app to the Google Home app.  I (like many other) returned the new cameras right away for a refund and purchased the gen 1 cams used from ebay (or where ever).    I have purchased 2 cams this way and will continue to do so until such time that Google brings ALL the nest features to the Google Home app.  Until then I find the Google home app to be unusable when it comes to security cameras.  And to make matters worse there is no way to view the new cameras on your computer.

How frustrating! I’m glad I asked as I nearly bought some outdoor cameras as well so I could stick to the same app for all the cameras! 
I bought it via Amazon so hopefully I can return it too because it’s not fit for purpose if that’s the case.
