Wiref NEST doorbells

We have wired Nest Hello doorbells on 2 doors and when I choose the notification that I want to receive (Doorbell Ring) as well as person, it will show on the display when I hit DONE, but will disappear almost every day although thr "Person" remains checked. What does it take to correct this? Also I would like text alerts to this phone but cannot make that happen - is there a way to get text alerts?

Where are you clicking "DONE"? Are you by any chance looking at the filter that displays below the video feed? That feature simply selects which events you wish to view right there.

Notifications are controlled by the "Notifications" option under Settings for the Google Nest Hello Doorbell. Under that option, you can select "Notification type" (Push and/or email), and then--under each zone (if you have set any), notifications for People, Packages, and All Other Motion.

If you turn on any Notification Type, you will get Doorbell Ring notifications as well as any other notifications you've selected. You can't separately turn off Doorbell Ring notifications.

  •  Brad, I  am notb100% sure yet but it appears that the Nest front doorbell problem may be solved. I am not sure if an inside doorbell rings when the smartphone is in the "Away" mode but I found this one to stay in that mode even when I was home. Maybe it was an automatic selection bases on the phone's location and maybe that got hung up or possibly I had it set up incorrectly. I appreciate your help znd may need to post again if another failure occurs.

Thanks as I was selecting the Doorbell option under filter and per your explanation, I  fo get the email notifications.  However, I  am disappointed that Google does not offer text notifications under the Notifications selection area and I am having the same problem with a Nest battery powdered cam in sending only emails. The WYZE cameras offer texts and I would have thought that Google would be a leader and not a follower in technology. If I cannot get text notifications from the camera, I  will probably remove the Nest cam and go with  the WYZE or similar camera security system that dies send text notifications (and Ibhave seen) examples of text notifications on at least the WYZE system.

Thanks again for taking the time to educate me on the limitations of the Hello Nest doorbell system.

Why will this site always say when to I replied  to Brad that the message cannot be delivered and it would not even forward it to my email account where I had hoped to find a way to get my response sent to the nice member who twice has contacted me about whether my problem was ever totally solved. Maybe it is my lack of skill on this website but definitely am nor computer dumb.
